Description
Busia County Referral Hospital is being upgraded to a full Level 5 facility to serve the county's population of over 900,000 and cross-border patients from Uganda. The upgrade includes construction of a new surgical wing, ICU, expanded maternity unit, comprehensive care centre, and radiology department. Given Busia's position as a border town, the hospital also serves significant numbers of Ugandan patients. The project is funded through county government resources, national government allocations, and development partner support.
Overview
Serves both Kenyan and cross-border Ugandan patients at one of East Africa's busiest border crossings
