Description
The Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone is a 3,000-acre industrial zone being developed adjacent to the Dongo Kundu Bypass and Mombasa Port. Part of the JICA-funded Dongo Kundu infrastructure ecosystem, the SEZ aims to attract manufacturing, logistics, and free trade businesses. Japan has committed approximately KES 42 billion for both the bypass and SEZ infrastructure including roads, electricity, water supply, and drainage. When operational, the SEZ is expected to employ over 27,000 people and transform Mombasa's industrial base.
