Description

This project upgraded the road from Eldoret to Iten (famous as the 'Home of Champions' for producing world-class runners) and onward to Kabarnet, the former administrative center of Baringo County. The road passes through spectacular Rift Valley escarpment scenery and serves a region that produces many of Kenya's elite athletes. The upgrade improved safety on the steep escarpment sections and facilitated agriculture and tourism.
