Description
The Homa Bay Town Sewerage Project involves construction of the town's first comprehensive sewerage system. Previously, Homa Bay relied on pit latrines and septic tanks, creating significant public health and environmental risks given the town's proximity to Lake Victoria. The project includes a sewage treatment plant, trunk sewer lines, household and commercial connections, and stormwater drainage separation. The project is funded through the Lake Victoria Environment Management Project and the Government of Kenya, with support from development partners.
