526km strategic highway connecting Isiolo to Moyale (Ethiopia border) as part of the Trans-African Highway and Mombasa-Nairobi-Addis Ababa corridor. Built in multiple phases: Phase 1 Isiolo-Merille (136km, completed, opened by President Kibaki); Phase 2 Merille-Marsabit (86km, Gulsan Construction Turkey); Phase 3 Marsabit-Turbi-Moyale (240km, AfDB funded KES 15B, launched by Kibaki). Reduced Moyale-Isiolo travel time from 12 hours to 4 hours. Enabled luxury bus services replacing lorry transport. Reduced commodity prices across northern Kenya. Part of Vision 2030 and LAPSSET corridor infrastructure.
