Description

The Kakamega-Webuye-Kitale road is a major highway connecting Kakamega town through Webuye in Bungoma County to Kitale in Trans Nzoia County. The road has undergone significant upgrades including widening, resurfacing, and installation of road safety features. The highway passes through the Pan Paper Mills area in Webuye and the sugar belt, serving heavy industrial and agricultural traffic. The road forms part of the broader highway network connecting the western region to the North Rift and eventually to Uganda through Suam. The upgrade has improved connectivity for the densely populated areas of Kakamega and Bungoma counties and reduced travel time significantly.

Overview

Vital transport artery connecting three counties and linking the western economic zone to the North Rift agricultural breadbasket. Supports sugar industry logistics, industrial activity in Webuye, and broader regional trade.
