Benefits
Description
The Isiolo-Moyale highway is a critical LAPSSET corridor road connecting central Kenya (Isiolo) to the Ethiopian border at Moyale, covering approximately 503km. Previously, the road through northern Kenya was largely unpaved, making the journey dangerous and time-consuming. The road has been constructed in phases by different contractors, significantly improving connectivity between Kenya and Ethiopia and opening up the historically marginalized northern frontier.
Overview
Transforms the Kenya-Ethiopia land corridor, reducing travel time from days to hours, and opening northern Kenya to development and cross-border trade.
