Description

The Kimwarer Dam was planned alongside the Arror Dam as a multipurpose water infrastructure project in Elgeyo-Marakwet County. Like Arror, the project was engulfed in a massive corruption scandal with the same Italian contractor receiving payments for work barely started. The two dams together became known as the 'Arror-Kimwarer Dams Scandal' and led to criminal charges against senior government officials.

Overview

Part of the biggest dam corruption scandal in Kenya's history, highlighting systemic issues in infrastructure procurement and foreign contractor accountability.
