Description
The Kisian-Busia Expressway is part of the planned 256km multinational Kisumu-Kisian-Busia/Kakira-Malaba-Busitema-Busia expressway connecting Kenya to Uganda. The Kenyan section involves rehabilitating the existing two-lane single carriageway B1 road and upgrading it to a two-lane dual carriageway over 104km. A $1.4 million feasibility study funded by the African Development Bank is being conducted by GOPA Infra Gmbh of Germany with ITEC Limited of Kenya. The expressway is part of improvements on the Northern Corridor providing faster access from the Mombasa Port to landlocked East African nations.
