Description
Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital is undergoing a major upgrade to transform it into a fully functional Level 6 facility serving the larger Gusii community and surrounding counties. The upgrade includes construction of new wards, an expanded ICU, a modern accident and emergency department, additional theatres, a renal unit, and a cancer treatment centre. The hospital serves as a teaching facility for Kisii University's medical school. The project has received cardiovascular and other specialist medical equipment. Governor Simba Arati has commissioned specialized medical outreach programs alongside the infrastructure upgrade.
