The Lunga Lunga-Vanga-Kanana-Shimoni road stretches over 70 kilometers along Kenya's extreme south coast, connecting the Tanzania border town of Lunga Lunga through Vanga to the historic fishing hub of Shimoni. The tarmac road has transformed the fishing industry at Shimoni by providing reliable transport for fish to Mombasa markets. It also facilitates cross-border trade with Tanzania and opens up previously isolated coastal communities to tourism and commerce.
