The Magwagwa Dam is a proposed mega infrastructure project by the Lake Basin Development Authority, planned for construction in Nyamira County. With an estimated cost of KES 86 billion, it would become one of Kenya's largest dams. The dam is designed to supply water for a 13,000-hectare irrigation scheme benefiting Nyamira, Kisumu, Vihiga, Kericho, Bomet, and Homa Bay counties.
