Description

The Mwache Dam is being constructed on the Mwache River in Kwale County to address water supply challenges for Mombasa city and the South Coast region. The dam will provide domestic water supply, irrigation water, and flood control. It will significantly augment Mombasa's water supply, which has long relied on the limited Mzima Springs pipeline and boreholes.

Overview

Addresses chronic water shortages in Kenya's second-largest city Mombasa and the rapidly developing South Coast region.
