Description
The Nyamira Town Water Supply Project involves expansion and rehabilitation of the existing water supply system drawing from River Eaka. The project includes construction of a new intake, water treatment plant upgrade, additional storage reservoirs, and extension of the distribution network to serve newly developed areas of Nyamira town. The project is managed by the Lake Victoria South Water Services Board and targets improved water access for over 100,000 residents. Only 3.4% of households in Nyamira had piped water connections as of the 2009 census.
