Pushed for road rehabilitation to improve county infrastructure

Benefits

Improved inter-county connectivity, enhanced tea transport, reduced vehicle damage, shorter travel times

Description

The Nyanchwa-Keroka road rehabilitation project covers approximately 30km from Nyanchwa on the outskirts of Kisii town to Keroka at the junction with the Kisii-Sotik highway. The road had severely deteriorated due to heavy traffic and poor drainage, causing significant delays for commuters and goods transport. The project includes widening the carriageway to 7 meters, constructing proper drainage systems, installing culverts, and applying bitumen surfacing. The road is vital for tea farming communities in the region and connects to Bomet and Kericho counties.

Overview

Key inter-county connector serving densely populated tea farming zones and linking Gusii highlands to the Rift Valley
