Benefits

Reduced Eastlands congestion, improved ring road connectivity, faster travel through eastern Nairobi

Description

The Outering Road project upgraded this critical Nairobi orbital road from a congested single carriageway to a modern dual carriageway with grade-separated interchanges at Taj Mall, Donholm, and other key junctions. The road forms part of Nairobi's semi-ring road system connecting Mombasa Road to the Thika Superhighway through the eastern suburbs. Funded by the Chinese government, the project significantly reduced travel times along Nairobi's eastern corridor.

Overview

Improved Nairobi's eastern ring road connectivity and reduced severe congestion in the populous Eastlands area.
