Description
The Kenya Integrated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Project (KIWASH) in Siaya County was a USAID-funded initiative implemented between 2015 and 2020. The project combined water infrastructure development with sanitation improvements and nutrition programming. It supported water service providers to improve service delivery and business operations, facilitated access to financing for WASH enterprises, and promoted community-led total sanitation. Siaya was one of nine target counties. The project extended basic drinking water services to tens of thousands of residents and helped achieve open-defecation free status for hundreds of villages.
