Kenya's first major upstream oil development in the South Lokichar Basin, Turkana County. Covers 1,085 hectares across Amosing, Ngamia and Twiga fields in blocks 10BB and 13T. Estimated 560 million recoverable barrels. Discovered by Tullow Oil in 2012 (Ngamia-1 wildcat well). Production target: 60,000-100,000 barrels per day. Gulf Energy Ltd (Nairobi-based) acquired from Tullow in April 2025 for $120M, targeting first oil by end of 2026. Field development plan cleared Energy Ministry heading to Parliament. Early cargoes likely trucked to Mombasa. Would make Kenya an oil producer alongside Uganda and South Sudan.
