Description

The Nairobi Southern Bypass is a 29.4km dual carriageway connecting Mombasa Road (near Ole Sereni) to the Nairobi-Nakuru highway at Gitaru Junction, passing through Langata, Karen, and Kikuyu. It features grade-separated interchanges at key junctions and was funded by the Chinese government through Exim Bank of China. The bypass significantly reduced traffic through Nairobi's CBD for vehicles traveling between Mombasa Road and western Kenya.

Overview

Connected Mombasa Road to the western Kenya highway without passing through Nairobi CBD, reducing city center congestion and providing faster cross-city transit.
