Description
The Teso South Roads Improvement Project involves upgrading key rural roads in Teso South sub-county, Busia County, to all-weather standards. The project targets roads connecting agricultural communities to major markets and trading centres. Teso South is a predominantly agricultural area growing maize, millet, cotton, and sugarcane. The poor road network has historically limited market access, resulting in high post-harvest losses and depressed farm gate prices. The project includes grading, gravelling, culvert installation, and spot improvements on priority roads. It is funded through the county government road improvement program and KeRRA.
