Description

The Kipeto Wind Energy Project is a 100MW wind farm located on the Kipeto Escarpment in Kajiado County, south of Nairobi near the Ngong Hills area. Developed by Kipeto Energy Limited (a joint venture involving Actis, GE, and local Maasai community landowners), it uses 60 GE turbines. The project incorporates community benefit sharing, with landowners receiving payments for hosting turbines on their land.
