Description
The Vipingo Special Economic Zone is a 2,000-acre development within the larger 10,254-acre Vipingo Development by Centum Real Estate on the former Rea Vipingo sisal estate in Kilifi County. Launched in September 2025, it is expected to attract KES 390 billion in investments and create over 35,000 direct jobs across manufacturing, commercial, residential, hospitality, and institutional sectors. Infrastructure includes a 3 million litre/day seawater desalination plant, on-site power substation, and full road network. Located along the Mombasa-Malindi Highway with good transport connections. Mombasa Cement already operates a factory with a 36MW wind station on the estate.
