Description
The Webuye-Malaba road is a critical 46km section of the Northern Corridor highway (A104) connecting Webuye to Malaba at the Kenya-Uganda border. As one of East Africa's most important trade corridors, the road carries heavy transit traffic to and from Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and DRC. The rehabilitation project included complete resurfacing, widening, drainage improvements, and installation of weigh stations. The road passes through Bungoma town and several major trading centres. It is essential for sugar cane transport from Bungoma's sugar belt to Nzoia Sugar Company.
