Description

The Western Bypass is a 33km dual carriageway skirting the western edge of Nairobi, connecting Ruiru on the Thika Superhighway to Gitaru on the Waiyaki Way/Naivasha highway. It passes through Ruaka, Ndenderu, Banana, Wangige, and Gitaru, providing an alternative route for traffic that would otherwise pass through Nairobi's congested CBD. The road was funded by the African Development Bank.

Overview

Provides critical east-west connectivity around Nairobi, reducing CBD through-traffic and connecting major northern and western highway corridors.
